BET Weekend saw many events that hit the Hollywood and Los Angeles prime venues. One such event was the Pure Dope Magazine Luxury Lounge at Nakeah Cosmetics in Hollywood that brought awareness to the debilitating affects of Lupus and celebrated the achievements on the honorees hosted my the lovely Malaysia Pargo of Basket ball Wives Los Angeles. It was a star-studded soiree with many celebrities and well-known personalities in attendance showing their support by advocating for a cure for Lupus. The chic hip-hop clothing boutique iVogue created a one-of-a-kind Lupus tee with photos adorning the shirt with Michael Jackson, Nick Cannon, Toni Braxton, Seal and J Dilla who are currrently or had been diagnosed with the illness before their untimely passing. The humanitarianism behind bringing much needed awareness was not a somber occasion- DJ MikeSmoove was in the building on the wheels of steel keeping the air filled with hits from nominees such as Big Sean, Beyonce, Nicki Minaj, Jay-Z and Kanye West to name a few.
The luxury lounge was spread over two days making the lavish event one big extended affair. Rosa Acosta, Marcus Paulk of Red Tails fame and Angell Cromwell (Young and the Restless) and Ben Watson Jr. of The L.A. Complex stopped by to show much love and received hot products from stylish brands like Mixology Watches and i.am.her apparel in their gift bags. The east was in the building as well via DJ Doughboy for New Jersey who blessed the talent with his BLOG Mixtape, wristbands and hot I Love the dough tanks tops. Need I say a great time was had by all in a lavish manner with Chambord liquor in abundance and incredilbe cupcakes made with the fines liquer. Make sure you check out the images of the event brought to you by veteran photo journalist Vinni Ratcliff and celebrity photographer Shawn Brooks. The D Network would like to thank all of the sponsors and vendors who were onboard for this worthy cause-your philanthropic efforts will change lives as we look for a cure and the cause of lupus. It is important that we all take a stand with a worthwhile event and cause that can help those who are affected in so many ways.
