The star-studded birthday soiree expects attendance from Neyo, Faith Evans, Slick Rick, Keith Robinson, Kwame, Special Ed, Kool Moe Dee and more close friends to usher in the special occasion being touted as simply, Dana Dane’s 50/30. The event is also sponsored by the UFC and the not-so-customary cupcake cakery Polkatots in Pasadena providing the backdrop amongst high-powered media on the black carpet. The Hip Hop community and the entertainment world are sure to come out and celebrate with Dana Dane as only he can do – with style and finesse.
“I’m excited to celebrate two great milestones on this special night”, Dana said. “I’ll be among family and friends who have loved and supported me over the years in this thing called Hip Hop.”
Dana Dane emerged on the scene during The Golden Era of Hip Hop, solidifying his career as a rapper with his classic debut album the RIAA-certified gold “Dana Dane with Fame” in 1987. The Brooklyn-native, with his diverse style, has also rapped in tandem with Slick Rick in a group they called the Kango Crew. In the world of beats and rhymes, Dana Dane is regarded as the quintessential storyteller and a fashion influencer. In his signature Kangol cap and Bally shoes, Dana singlehandedly brought awareness to luxury brands during one of the most innovative epochs in the genre.
“I have always mixed high-end fashion with thrifty attire to create what I call my GQ B-Boy fashion sense,” Dana added.
Dana, a recognizable voice for six years on Sirius XM’s Backspin, has continued to stay fresh in the entertainment business with his creativity and flexibility. The newest business venture carrying Dana Dane into the new millennium includes Def Beat Entertainment, launched in 2003 as a multi-media company specializing in publishing, screenwriting, film producing and of course, music. Dana currently lives in Los Angeles where he continues to spearhead and collaborate on new projects with his son, Young Dane, a promising new artist who combines Hip Hop with R&B. Additionally, Dana Dane can be seen partnering with his wife, Tana, on their new web-based relationship show, affectionately known as “Dana Says/Tana Says”, with episodes showing on his YouTube channel: youtube.com/danadanemedia. “This is the real love and Hip Hop,” stated Dana Dane. “We discuss life issues as a couple in our unique and entertaining manner.”
